When a telecoms solution was needed for their new office, mortgage brokers ‘The Buy to Let Broker’ had no trouble ‘letting’ local telecoms company Tech Advance take the lead.
The Buy to Let Broker is a unique business with a big reputation. Based in Southport Merseyside it’s been finding people the most cost effective buy-to-let deals for years. Which was why when the company decided to move offices and needed some expert advice on their telecom’s needs, they knew all about finding the right people for the job and at the right price.

Tech Advance needed to find ‘The Buy to Let Broker’ a telephone system solution for their new office which could support The Buy to Let Broker team but that could also support in the same office another similar business, Property Loans And Mortgages UK LTD. Both businesses needed to function independently but have the ability to share the same telephone system and Internet access solution in order to streamline costs and have seamless communications between each other. They needed to find a cost effective solution that would work for both businesses and with the minimum amount of disruption to the teams.
Ongoing and upfront costs were also a key factor in all decisions made, in particular call charges to UK mobile telephones needed to be kept to a minimum, this being the bulk of outbound calls made by the business.

The solution was always going to involve a VoIP platform based on the need to migrate the existing telephone numbers to the new address when they couldn’t be moved on standard phone lines.
The type of system deployed is basically a cloud based telephone system, which means the only set up costs were the VoIP phones, the Internet connection being used for the calls and the on-site installation and set-up.
Timescales were also an issue and the VoIP platform choice meant that we could get the system up and running within the appointed timescales easily, with even time to spare.
Tech Advance provided call bundles for the company including bulk minutes free of charge every month to UK mobile and UK land line numbers. With a simple migration of existing legacy telephone numbers from previous addresses, it meant that ‘The Buy to Let Broker’ could keep their existing telephone number even though they were moving out of the area, which was great news to them.
“The phone number was something we were very keen to keep hold of as it was the number all our customers knew us on. I was aware that sometimes with BT it’s not possible to keep the number even if you move around the corner so we were really pleased when Tech Advance managed to come up with a solution to what was a very worrying problem for us.”
